Megan Choy, ND, LAc

Raised by parents in the medical field, Dr. Megan Choy was familiar with conventional medical practices from an early age. However, in high school, as her physical and emotional health began deteriorating, she began searching for answers outside of conventional medicine. Some of the places she looked over the next decade included Pilates, Yoga, Nutrition, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, and Naturopathic Medicine.

Dr. Choy attended Swarthmore College and achieved her BA in Psychobiology. During that time she participated in research on memory modulation—the effects that strong negative emotions have on the up-regulation of memories. After college, she moved to New York City where she worked as a professional Classical Ballet dancer. A few years later she moved to Asia, where she worked as a fashion model in Bangkok and Hong Kong. During her time in NYC and Asia, she continued her search for better ways to heal as well as to optimize performance of the mind and body.

Upon returning from Asia, Dr. Choy moved to Portland, Oregon, where she discovered that a major answer in her search was located. She attended the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM), achieving a Naturopathic Doctorate (ND) and a Masters in Acupuncture (MAC). During this time she attended numerous Applied Kinesiology seminars and attained her certification in Professional Applied Kinesiology. She also completed studies for a Masters in Integrative Medicine Research (MSiMR), however illness and stress led her to choose to postpone the writing of her thesis, a task that she looks forward to completing in the near future.

One week before graduation, Dr. Choy attended her first Total Body Modification (TBM) seminar. While her graduate studies were a major step in her path to better understand health, personal healing really began for Dr. Choy when she discovered TBM. Graduate school was very stressful and shortly before graduation Dr. Choy found herself fatigued, ill, depressed, and lacking motivation to move forward with her programs and the next steps after graduation. Through TBM and the diligent care of Dr. Millet, Dr. Choy discovered how to support her health, and discovered what it felt like to have a healthy and joyful life.

Since her first seminar, Dr. Choy has taken dozens of TBM seminars, traveling with Dr. Millet to nearly every seminar that has been offered in that time. She has had an intensive course in TBM; she has attended every Module that is offered, and she immersed herself in the TBM lifestyle from her first introduction to it. In May 2015, she achieved Teaching Certification status, and has co-taught many seminars with Dr. Millet around the world. She is now bringing her research mind to TBM, bringing scientific references into the curriculum, writing briefs, and writing books to make TBM more accessible to more people. She brings this research mind, as well as her attention to detail, and a strong ability to explain concepts into her teaching, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience.
